Staff from Mace Macro brave Hurricane Ike to help client

Representatives from Mace Macro encountered more than they bargained for during a pre-planned helpdesk mobilisation project for client Invesco at its Houston Texas office, when Hurricane Ike blew through.
With the storm approaching, David Craig of Macro and Mei Yee Gurrin of fm24 suspended the helpdesk project to assist the Invesco FM team to implement business continuity plans and secure the building infrastructure.
After the storm, which left 75% of the city without power, they decided to extend their visit to help Invesco allow its 1400 employees to return to full business operations within a week. Macro worked with local contractors to manage the clean up, secure the building and restore power to essential business systems.
Managing director of Macro Peter Brumby said: "This is a great example of Macro and fm24 demonstrating the lengths they go to for their clients. In the true spirit of partnership, David and Mei Yee also gave up one of their hotel rooms for a client contact whose home had been left without power or water."
